Sea Life Park

Sea Life Park is a family oriented visitor spot located near Makapu'u Point off of Kalaniana'ole Highway on the island of Oahu. The park is a bird sanctuary, marine mammal park and an aquarium. The park first opened in 1964 and was acquired by Palace Entertainment in 2008.

The park contains many exhibits that allow visitors to interact with the animals, such as swimming with dolphins, sea lions and rays. You are also able to take a sea safari at the aquarium and a unique experience of feeding sea turtles.

The Hawaiian Reef Aquarium is the home environment for over 2,000 reef animals including rays, sharks, turtles, and schools of tropical fish all in a 300,000 gallon aquarium. There is also a penguin habitat which is part of the Association of Zoo's and Aquariums Species Survival Plan for the Humboldt Penguin. The Dolphin Cove Show is an open air theater where visitors can view and be entertained by the live dolphin shows.

The Hawaiian Ocean Theater is home to all the live shows which include the dolphins, penguins, and sea lions; the visitors are also treated to information about the latest conservation efforts and training techniques. The visitors to the park can interact with the animals at some of the pools that include the sea turtle feeding, the stingray lagoon, and the swim with dolphins, and the swim with sea lions areas. The Hawaiian Monk Seal Habitat will allow visitors to see these beautiful creatures and how the trainers interact with them before and after the shows.

The bird sanctuary is where you will see many wild marine birds, most of which arrived sick or injured. Visitors can see how the birds are cared for and rehabilitated, examples of some of the types of birds are booby's, shearwaters, and albatross. One of the most significant conservation efforts of Sea Life Park is the release of hundreds of adolescent sea turtles, that were born and raised at the park, back into the wild.
