Matsumoto's Shave Ice on the North Shore, Oahu Hawaii

Matsumoto's Shave Ice is a local favorite that is located in Haleiwa. Matsumoto's was established in February 1951 and has been voted Oahu's most popular shave ice and has been in business for over half a century. Matsumoto's Shave Ice is open daily Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The northern entrance to Haleiwa Town is marked by the historic Rainbow Bridge, which spans the Anahula River. There are two beach parks surrounding Haleiwa, Haleiwa Beach Park to the North and Ali'i Beach Park to the south. In 1898, a businessman named Benjamin Dillingham, opened the first hotel in the North Shore area and named it Haleiwa. In 1984 Haleiwa was designated a State Historic, Cultural, and Scenic District.
